How to prepare yourself for profile picture
How to prepare yourself for profile picture
Pictures are meant to be fun. It is meant to be life, and a means to express happiness.
However …
.. the changes in opportunities have highlighted that the importance of a profile picture says a lot about someone on social media. Or in the Internet in general. For social media websites like Facebook and Twitter, it doesn’t matter how you express yourself. Except for your page for self expression or professional look. Whether it is official or not, here are the simple steps to use when preparing a profile picture.
1. Locating the Correct Light Setting
A correct light setting brings out your beautiful face. Keep it in mind that even the light has settings; the studio setting is different from the outdoor shot, but it is important that the light is a soft one, if not, you might have a dark or too-white picture. There must be no strong shadow on your face or object, once we get this; we are good to go.

2. Locating the Ideal Background
When the light is ready, the background is the next important thing; it must be the ideal one because it passes the message about the picture. When it comes to profile pictures, you may want it official and it may be for a specific purpose, just ensure the background is good. A designed wallpaper or paper background is good; it depends on your choice.
3. Strike a Pose and an Angle
A profile picture isn’t something so hard, but it is tactical and must be well balanced in posture. There are different styles to try out with your arms; it can be one arm on hips, straight down, or arm crossed, and many more. These movements go beyond keeping your hands busy. Their function is to adjust your frame around, and that includes your shoulder. The purpose is to give variations to your look. Sometimes, I also advise the customer to step back a bit with one leg or two; this adjusts the weight or perspective of your face and posture.
4. Facing Flashlight
This is the most important aspect of the profile picture; the eyes must be firmly opened to have a very nice picture. This step has so many things involved, and they are listed as follow:
Don’t stare blankly: Look at the camera and let your eyes feel the energy. It’ll make you look attractive.
Don’t act surprised: Do not act like you are surprised in front of the camera like it’s your birthday. Ensure to relax your face and bring out a real smile.
Be real: What makes a profile picture beautiful is your real face, but many tend to fake a look. Just see pictures like you’re in reality, and smile the way you would when discussing.
Chin forward, not up or down: To avoid your chin up or down, the best thing is to look at the camera squarely and stick your chin forward a few inches.
Avoid selfies posture: Always inform yourself that you are not snapping selfie no matter how beautiful you may look. It’s a profile picture, a reminder of that will avoid any bending of your profile picture.
Don’t pose so hard it hurts: Many tend to freeze themselves while taking pictures, and it is even the same when it comes to taking profile pictures. While posing, ensure your body is not stiff, and be flexible so you don’t get too hard on yourself. After this, the camera flashes and your profile picture is taken.
The reason why many clients do not find photography pleasurable is due to the inability of the photographer to be flexible.
